They want him at the headquaters which is about 80 miles from here, but not easy to get to from an island, so commuting would not be an option.

Our neighbors icelandic sheep are starting to lamb. There have been 4 born so far. I have The Readers Digest Guide to Gardening and am using it to get an idea of what to do when. We are in zone 5-6. I bought a bunch of herb seeds today and a mini planter to get them started. I also bought some peony and dahlia's. It's quite chilly here so I'll need to wait to plant those, but at least I have them. I'm going to try to clean out the flower bed this weekend and get it ready for some flowers. Grandma says we'll start the vegetable garden in May..hopefully I'll be feeling up to it, but if not I'll be there for the watering/weeding/harvesting.Sandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06521088520231972617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14259322.post-45098672895557287672009-03-12T08:10:00.000-07:002009-03-12T08:10:00.000-07:00Right now we are having freezing rain so thoughts ...Right now we are having freezing rain so thoughts of spring are far away today. I'm glad I didn't plant anything other than a few radishes while it was warm last week.

Do you know what zone you are in? Do you have a long enough growing season for tomatoes or do you have to buy a special variety that ripens quickly? I bet your Grandma knows all the tricks for northern gardeners,huh?aolahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12434882980698530258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14259322.post-53110387598670642292009-03-11T20:16:00.000-07:002009-03-11T20:16:00.000-07:00It is becoming home.....
