I'm in need of some serious fashion help ladies! I mustered up the confidence to go shopping today only to be disappointed and confused once I got to the department store. Where do I start? I have no idea what is going to look good on me! Seriously, I've made it through the last 27 years without having the slightest idea of how to dress this body. I want some simple pieces to wear when we go out. My work attire is chosen for me by someone with even less fashion sense than myself so I want weekend/evening wear that will allow me to feel feminine and flirty without looking like I'm trying to be 16 again.
It wasn't at all fair of me to once again try to go clothes shopping while on my period, but for some reason that is when the shopping bug hits me. I'm certain it's because I feel fat and ugly. Oh the wonders of womanhood.
I'm giving myself the rest of this week off from diet and exercise and will start back fresh on Monday. I'm too tired to even think about physical activity right now, but I know I need to get back on track.

It's best to stick to basics to start with, buy some classic pieces like a pair of classic jeans or a nice pair of black slacks ( I bought one pair of classic jeans, one pair black and one pinstripe pair of slacks) then add some color with a nice shirt or sweater. I also bought a nice black skirt and jacket. Once you have the basic pieces you can add some color and jazz with your accessories.
The main thing for me was buying the right size. I tend to buy things to small because I'm embarrassed to admit what size I actually wear but I bought all these peices to fit. They look nice and feel nice.

Good call, A. Shop around and find jeans, slacks and skirts that are comfortable, flattering and "matchable." Keep color up near your face. And when you get the shopping bug, buy shoes or earrings--not as much of a crunch on your budget and they always fit regardless of water weight. (Well, your shoes can be tight from time to time, but you know what I mean...)

Thanks ladies! I am planning to go shoping again this weekend! By then the period monser will be dormant and I should have a little more of my sanity with me.

A-line skirts and straight leg jeans --- best things I own -- make me feel skinny even when I'm fat.
