We had our second doctors appointment yesterday. Baby Jackson's heartbeat was 160, and all of the test came back with normal results. My blood pressure was high, but I'm sure it was because of my pre-appointment adventure which included leaving the house only to find that I'd forgotten something at home and having to turn around to get it, getting lost trying to find the place, and spending forever trying to find parking once I did find it. I ended up being late for the appointment and I HATE to be late. The nurse was so sweet. She told me that if I was ever running late again I should not worry about it. I should just drive like a butterfly and they will take care of me when I get there.

I've lost 4lbs since my last doctors appointment which means that overall I've lost 15lbs since I got pregnant. The doctor said that as long as I am eating and I'm not throwing up anymore I shouldn't be too worried. I assure you, I am eating. I make myself eat even though the thought of food is less than appealing most of the time. I haven't felt hungry in three months. My diet consists of fruit, plain chicken, and vegetables because everything else makes me feel sick. I also drink milk which I am not a fan of, but I know the baby needs it.

Though my belly hasn't grown enough for anyone to notice, I can feel the pull on my lower back. Sleeping has already become and issue. I can't find a position that doesn't make my back hurt. Any suggestions?

You poor girl.

They have super cool pregnancy body pillows at Babies R Us, but I've been using a regular fairly-firm one. Have you thought about trying a "Belly Bra" or support garment? Sometimes your insurance will pay for them if your doctor prescribes it and you buy it in a drugstore environment.

I had really horrible back pain with my twins, so my doctor referred me to a physical therapist who specializes in pregnant women. It was AWESOME. Most insurance co. will pay for at least several visits, and it is so nice to have the advice they give. She gave me special excercises and stretches to help with the aches and pains, plus a really nice massage each week. Totally worth it! Other than that, I used several regular pillows to support my entire body. I had a pillow fortress; my husband didn't come within two feet of me my entire pregnancy! :) Good luck, it's hard to be comfortable when pregnant in my opinion!

I used a pillow and then added more as I got bigger and tucked them in different place for support while I was lying down. I also wore a "belly bra" and/or a support belt. They really helped. I especially needed them with baby #3 qnd 4.

heh - your diet sounds my like diet with Sam -- maybe it's an OK thing.

I never figured out the sleeping thing . . .

Pilates helped my back -- lots and lots of cat stretches

being pregnant sucks, but babies rock. sorry chicka.

pillows between your knees, pillows behind your back, pillows everywhere

and what Becky said - the cat stretches helped me a lot and it will also, later on, encourage baby J. to turn in the right postition

I would sew golf balls in the front of all my husbands underwear and make him wear them for the duration of my pregnancy.

It probably won't help your back pain, but you'll at least be distracted by laughing.

Thank you all for the advice. I used a few extra pillows last night and had a much better night.

Cara, you kill me!

I dunno, Becky...what about the old wives tale about heartrates over 140 being a girl...and all that estrogen making mommy super sick...I dunno. :)

Any "premonitions," Sandra? Are you guys going to try to find out before the birth?
