We found out yesterday afternoon that David did not get the job. The other guy had experience with Porsche. We are bummed but not beaten. We firmly believe that whatever is meant to be will be. We prayed and told God to let us know which job he should take, and this is our answer. So, David will be taking the first job he applied for. It will be harder work in less comfortable conditions, but it's a job and the experience will be great because David will be working on all types of cars. The pay and benefits are about the same, so the only loss is that the sign on the front of the garage doesn't say Porsche. David really liked the shop owner too, and felt like he would be a great guy to work for. I'm just glad to finally know what direction we are taking and to be moving forward. All that waiting was making us crazy!
I talked to Erin yesterday. She was on her way to the Space Needle. She sounded really excited. I know she is having a lot of fun. I miss her. :(

Scratch that post. David doesn't have the other job either. It appears the owner of the shop hired someone and while he had told David that he would be hiring two people and to call him when he knew that he could start, he decided to only hire one person. He did say he won't know if the other guy is taking the job for a week and a half, but that's probably longer than we can wait. So I am curently without a job. This situation won't work long so please pray that David find a job.

Whew!! Once he has a little experience under his belt he will never have trouble getting a job again. We still have shops call Mark trying to get him to go back to work.

Oh awesome! Is it a good place?

Yeah, he is mostly using this job for the experience. He has two other interviews next Tuesday as well. One is at BMW and the other is for Acura.
Kristen, we hope it is a good place. They all sound good, but as we are learning people aren't always honest.

The mechanic business can be really cut-throat, most of them work on commission. Did he get a guarentee? Some dealerships really screw their mechanics on the waranty stuff - so tell him to be careful.
But, Mark worked for some great guys, too.

Yeah, we're finding out that you have to watch out for yourself.
He got a call from someone at his school about the show "Overhauln" looking for techs in this area to do a show. They sent them David's resume. It would only be one show, but it would be tons of fun for him.
