It's about time!

I was finally able to schedule appointments with my cardiac specialist and surgeon. Our insurance had a 12 month wait period for pre-existing conditions. Luckily I had 11 months of prior insurance which went towards the wait period, leaving me only one month of wait time. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the appointments on the same day so I'll have to make two trips to Pittsburgh in one week. My hope is that I'll only have these two appointments before the surgery. That could be wishful thinking. I have no idea what the process is.

I found this video of the surgery I'll be having on youtube. David says I'm crazy for watching it, but I don't think so. I like to know what's going to happen.

I dont think you are crazy for watching this at all. I choose not to, but then thats me.
You are so strong and so wise for your age, and I am so proud of you.
We never think about our mortality until its shoved in our face and we are made to face it. I think its a way of humbling us and reminding us of the power and name that is our Lord and Savior. It reminds us of how much we need him and how much he loves us.
I know I have said it before... but I am anxious to get this over with and watch the rest of your life bloom further into that wonderful woman you have and are becoming.
I love you

I am glad things are under way, and I hope everything goes smoothly. Thinking happy thoughts for you!

eeeewwww... I couldn't even look in the mirror when I was giving birth, much less look at heart surgery.... but, good for you for doing what ever it takes to be able to face this bravely. You are strong!

I watched it but I like medical stuff, even so it is not easy to watch. You are brave for watching, but I think you will be more "relaxed" going in ( if that is possible) having researched it so thourghly!
